The scope of works involved extensive remodelling, updating and redecoration of the reception area and all office spaces to future-proof the Rotherham-based three-storey building. The project was undertaken while the head office remained operational.
Key to the ground floor improvements was creating a substantially larger and more welcoming reception. This has been achieved by moving an existing wall to extend the reception area from 130 sq feet to 190 sq feet, creation of a large operations room for up to eight people, installing modern Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) flooring and incorporating comfortable seating incorporating Grayson (GB) Ltd‘s company colours to create a strong brand identity.
Additionally on the ground floor Mowbray installed a new glass-fronted office with integral blinds – providing privacy from the reception area. The new office was fitted with an 85-inch TV monitor for Teams calls, along with associated data cabling, new LED lighting and finished with a map of the UK showing Grayson’s other locations.
The entire first floor, which previously housed the 12-strong sales professionals, Managing Director and Sales Director, was divided into an open-plan area for the sales team with separate glass-fronted offices for the Managing Director – including a small meeting area for four people – and another for the Sales Director. Replacing existing furniture with a bench desk system has created additional seating capacity for sales staff.
The existing office tea point was replaced with a new kitchen area, including a specialist hot tap supplied by Mowbray’ preferred partner Hotspot Titanium, with LVT flooring laid.
On the top floor, the existing meeting area was redesigned to create a new staff kitchen and wellbeing room with LVT flooring and two meeting rooms have been transformed into training rooms with air conditioning and 85-inch monitors installed.
The six-week project included redecorating and installing new 30-minute fire doors and ironmongery on all three floors.

The building’s first floor mezzanine had been designed and installed in 2010 by Mark Davison, now Mowbray Interior’s Sales Director (Northern Region), who commented: “I have known Tony personally and professionally for almost 20 years and, as an Army veteran like myself, he has exceptionally high standards and a keen eye for detail.
“It is extremely gratifying that he is delighted with the completed project.”
